Purged by Peter Laws

Aileen McKenzie | The Bookbag

“This book really gave me the creeps and I found the subject an interesting premise for a crime fiction novel. Told in third person from different points of view the reader is given a chilling glimpse into the mind of a cold-blooded killer who has completely lost touch with reality.”

“Peter Laws has laid solid groundwork for a great, unique new series, and I can’t wait to read the next chapter in the Matt Hunter story.”

Kate | For Winter Nights

“What a pleasure to read this book is! And extremely hard to put down and why would you want to? I didn’t.”

“This is a novel in which one should be thoroughly immersed. It contains a gripping mystery, terrifying evil and also goodness. I am so pleased to learn that this is just the first in a new series. The next one will go straight to the top of my reading pile and that’s not something I say about many series.”

Purged by Peter Laws – review

Janet Emson | From First Page to Last

“I was completely wrapped up in the story until the very end. Peter Laws has a compelling writing style, mixing the comedic with the macabre and the more I read, the more I grew attached to the characters and the story.”

“A welcome new addition to the crime writing scene, peppered with humour but also thought provoking, dark and traumatic. A compelling, absorbing read and I for one can’t wait for the next book in the series.”

About the Book

9780749021450Matt Hunter lost his faith a long time ago. Formerly a minister, now a professor of sociology, he’s writing a book that debunks the Christian faith while assisting the police with religiously motivated crimes.

On holiday with his family in Oxfordshire, Matt finds himself on edge in a seemingly idyllic village where wooden crosses hang at every turn. The stay becomes more sinister still when a local girl goes missing, followed by further disappearances. Caught up in an investigation that brings memories to the surface that he would prefer stay buried deep, Matt is on the trail of a killer determined to save us all.
